Default Doggy Poo Poo's

When camping in State and National Parks, do you pick up after your dog does #2. If so, what do you do with it?

At home, when we take out dogs out on a leash to go to the bathroom, we carry paper towels and a plastic bag, and when they go we pick it up with paper towel and place it in plastic bag that we tie up in a knot and toss it in our garbage can. Doesn't smell when bag is tied.

Are there garbage cans in state and federal parks to do this?
Any other recommendations?

Most parks I’ve been to have posts with supplies of plastic doggie bags and trash cans for disposal. You just stick your hand inside the bag, pick up the poop, turn the bag inside out, tie it and toss it.

Digger nailed it. No paper towels are needed. Just use a plastic bag as Digger described. Then toss it in the regular trash cans. Nothing special needed.

We use plastic bags from the produce area of the grocery store. They crunch up small for storage but are sturdy enough to do the job.

Hope this helps..

We keep 1 of these hanging on the leash: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...2&lmdn=Cleanup

You can buy just extra bags when the time comes. A little more expensive than saved shopping bags, but you can sometimes forget to stick a couple or those in your pocket. Plus, sometimes those used plactic shopping bags have holes in them.....yechhh !!

These are advertising giveaways at many Dog related events. Be sure to look for them ,
