Hmmm, that McKesh is looking like a better possibility. CIPA copy might be an option, but I've been disappointed with cheap copies of stuff in the past.

None of the slide on mirrors have convex mirrors. The bolt on OEM replacement towing mirrors are just too bulky for regular use.

Trying to see the aftermarket mirror image enlarged so I can brand, but too fuzzy. Brand recommendations? Or link?

I just entered his year & model with "tow mirrors" on eBay and they popped up. A buddy has the same ones for his Silverado but with the LED arrows and they work great. I'm gonna mod a set to work on my Envoy.

Well, Bill, I think the Mckesh mirrors are going to be a winner. They will allow us to use the Explorer as well as the Tahoe for towing. No other option, except for the CIPA copies, would be suitable for both vehicles. There are no OEM style options for the Explorer, but I suspect that is because any OEM extendable style would just be too wide unless you are actually towing.

When searching reviews, there are almost no complaints about the Mckesh mirrors, and tons of praise. The CIPA copies do get some complaints. Also, Hensley has a sale on the mirrors.

Regarding the hitches, the Princess Auto one could be inverted to get a 2" rise. It might actually work, because I think I'd need a rise of 1". As for cost, of course Walmart in the USA would be much cheaper, but you're comparing USD with CAD. I'll consider this one in a pinch, but I think it would be good to get a ball mount with a towing capacity closer to the max towing capacity of the truck, which is about 8000 lbs.

Just ordered the mirrors, got two spotter mirrors too.

I'm curious, are there some who don't use towing mirrors with their Trailmanors? I thought it was the law. I would certainly be scared towing a travel trailer without towing mirrors.
The guy we bought our TM from had never used towing mirrors. We wouldn't even tow it home the day we bought it w/out towing mirrors. We just have strap on mirrors that shake, but they get the job done. We wouldn't be w/out them.

I've never used tow mirrors. I use a early edition Tundra and towed 2 TM units the past 12 years or so. The narrow width of the TM of 7ft allows a decent view of following traffic. I'm not aware of a road law for tow mirrors.

What model do you have? The narrowest I see (current production) is the 2518 sport. The 2720 is 7'11", 1" shy of 8'.

I believe the specs were always 7ft. 7". Maybe that's inside wall to wall. But the units are narrower than conventional tow behind models. I've pulled conventional and can't see around them with standard mirrors. What I've always appreciated is the low profile height. Can see most vehicles back there.

The 2720 is 7'11 (95"). My Tahoe is 79", excluding the mirrors. That means I need mirrors that extend at least 8" each. The stock mirrors may reach to that barely, but that isn't enough to see behind the trailer. Many state laws require that you can see a point 200 feet behind the trailer with mirrors. I'm not sure about Canada, but I'm sure it's similar.

Check out www.milenco.com for what I think is the best tow mirror, besides the slide on type, that only fit certain vehicles! I have used these for Toyota 4 Runner, Tacoma and presently Ford F150! They appear to be available in Canada but much cheaper in the US! I have the Grand Aero which is large and works very well! The Aero 3 appears smaller and maybe more aerodynamic! For the past few years I have only used the drivers side to see behind the trailer! The passenger side is overkill, depending on the tow vehicle, in my opinion!

We are considering selling our 2619 soon and would consider delivering it as far as Glacier Nat Park!
