Default awning

can anyone tell me if the outside supports on the awning should be strait when it is fully extended. mine seems to be bent about 10 degrees and I don't want to break them trying to snap them. I've looked at youtubes and web pages and some are strait and some bent. I don't want to try adjusting something that is correct in the first place as most of the posts about adjusting these are how to fix them so they close. mine closes just fine but the cloth seems loose when I have it opened all the way.

If you mean the arms that are horizontal (not the vertical ones that you bring down) that fold out as you crank out the awning, then yes, they don't straighten all the way. Well, mine certainly don't. To get the slack out of the canvas, open the awning all the way, put the vertical supports down and get them where you want, then slightly roll the awning back in to take up the slack.

I find that the awning is a real paign sometimes. My wife wanted to angle the awning to block the sun and those pesky arms were in the way of the door. She spent the better part of an hour trying stuff. Gonna have to work something else out.
