Default Oldest tm being used

Hello all
i know i am still new here, and love learning about our tm, and was curious , we have a vintage 91 tm 23, bought it, had been in a garage for 12 yrs.,done bearings, breaks, tires, and put the old girl back on road, done about 600 miles first trip. Yea needs some tlc ,ref. Some new curtains, and some of the upgrades i have seen here. But is there anyone else out there with an older tm ? And anything i need to be aware of in the older ones? Tell you, was the best 12.00 i ever spent.

MariaG has a 1985. They've done quite a bit of work to theirs.

Hi everyone! Been very busy here with my college classes and work and my daughter's endless, HUGE calendar of events she must be driven to, and it's been a while since I've had time to stop by. I see I've also let my membership lapse, yikes. I'll take care of that asap.

Anyway, I _think_ Happytrails and I have the oldest ones I remember seeing on the forum, at least, both 1986's. I remember reading somewhere on here that the first TM ever built was still around and that it showed up at rallies occasionally. That would be cool to see!

We had a very busy year with our oldest graduating high school and going off to college, so with grad parties and home improvement projects, unfortunately we did no work on the Origami this year. We'll be looking forward to spring, but in Michigan, of course, that's a ways off. Randy and Vickie, if you click the link in my signature, there are a lot of pictures of the work we've done so far. Enjoy, and welcome to the 'club'!

MariaG:
Very well done. The DW and I bought a 1996 TM 2518 that needs some work done to it but certainly not as much as your family has done. Looked at all your pics and now have ideas concerning what to do with our curtains, hardware and adding a corner shelf. Ours is not a combo bathroom so tossed the Thetford. Like they say on this forum you either like it or hate it. Sealed the hole, built a platform over it and added a porta-potti. We liked the idea of the manual slide separating everything. Once again, great work.

I just bought a 1985 TM. Spent the weekend cleaning and polishing the exterior. The hot water tank was not hooked up due to a cracked fitting on the intake side. My husband is trying to fix that but we ran out of daylight yesterday. There are a few electrical problems with the interior lights that we havent got to yet but all in all it is in pretty good shape. Does any one have a wiring diagram for a TM this old?
Looking forward to our first outing in a few weeks.

Try here:

There is a wiring diagram in here:in the 2008 manual starting on page 33.

I don't know if there is a wiring diagram in the earlier version.

The wiring diagram that came in my blue book is posted here:

The date of the drawing is 1996, so while there are likely some changes since your unit was made, I bet much of it is similar. In any event, you could at least use it as a platform to make some guesses, which you can prove true or false with a meter.
