Default Need replacement tongue jack

The motor on the tongue jack of my 2720SL crapped out at the end of last season. Anyone have one for sale, or a recommendation of where to buy one, or some advice on how to fix it myself? I can, in the meantime of course, use the manual crank to raise and lower the tongue. Thanks.

Ken,

Have you tried bypassing the hot wire? Have you checked for a good ground? If both checks don't resolve the issue, look for a manufactures name and try contacting them for help. Any RV repair shop should be able to take a look at the jack and make recommendations. You could also do an Internet search on your particular model to see if someone has put together troubleshooting steps.

I agree with Dick, have you troubleshot it to make sure it is defective? If yes, there's several option and brands you can chose from.

I bought this one years back from Amazon. It had good reviews, but there are newer versions out now. I did a web search on best tounge jacks and decided the Husky was what I wanted. It's overkill, but I figure for this usage more is better.

I did try to troubleshoot it, with no success. One problem is that the TM is in NY, and I'm 1500 miles south. But checking on Amazon, as usual, is probably the way to go. I may buy the $100 model, as the tongue is definitely not more than 3500 pounds. Thanks for the help, folks.

Btw, I asked an RV dealer for his advice, and he said go to Camping World. Just checked their site, and the 3500-pound jack is $240. Think I'll stick with Amazon.

Pretty much nothing is a good deal at camping world, including if you have Good Sam club. They are sometimes useful for emergencies, but you will be paying a premium. And it is distressing how much "as seen on TV" type of merchandise is in the aisles rather than anything to do with RV camping. Sometimes it feels like brick-and-mortar merchants are deliberately pushing customers to Amazon. I think it's hard for them to make a profit on parts, and they just give up.

Where in NY is the TM? I’m in Rochester if I can help at all...

Also I have the one from Harbor Freight, it’s been great. But dang that $69.99 jack on Amazon can’t be beat price-wise! Looks just like the one I got Harbor Freight!

over the years I have had issues with electric jacks. But never the motor. I had a switch go bad and for like $15 fixed it. I had a bad glass fuse holders and replaced it. Also several times bad battery connections.

FYI: My TM the jack size is the larger size of the two common jacks out there, which is the upper tube diameter. Can not be sure but I believe those sizes are 2" and 1.75. But whatever the sizes are it was the larger of the two.

It could just be the same manufacturer, but there's an interesting phenomenon going on over the past few years. People arbitrage sales at Walmart, and maybe Harbor Freight, and resell the merchandise on eBay at a markup. It's easy enough to be an Amazon vendor, maybe they do it there as well, but Amazon is probably charging 18% to carry that merchandise. eBay's fees are much better, and it's often a good idea to check there before buying on Amazon, if you don't need the rapid shipping.

A lot of electronic parts are going through Taobao these days. In Chinese. And that is the biggest e-commerce website, English speakers are no longer in the lead. There are whole books written about how westerners can do business on Taobao.
