Does anyone know if a regular mattress will fit in the TM?

You don't say which TM. That is important. The Queen beds in the TM are slightly different size than a home mattress. That said, a standard mattress of any size will be too tall to allow the TM to close and there is no room to store it inside during travel. There are lots of solutions here that appear to work very well.

We bought one of those memory foam mattress tops from Costco. It fits well enough on the queen bed in our 2720sl. It's about three inches thick and can be rolled up and plopped on the sofa when closed up. Can't attest to its comfort yet.

Nope. TM mattress can't be any higher than about 4 inches. A regular mattress is nearly twice that or more.

We use a pair of LL Bean futons. Perfect fit for bed cut out, and lets us make them up as twins. The futons are 3.5 to 4 inches thick and after two and half years of use we have had no problems. The beds can be made up, mattress pad, sheets, and up to four layers pf blankets and the camper closes fine. We are looking at getting another set for the other camper.
The only down side is the price but well worth it for a good nights sleep.

We used a good 3" camping pad on top of the mattress from REI in our 2619, one like the thermarest brand that inflates. It was super comfortable, but it did have to be rolled up or stored on the floor when closing the TM.

Sorry I was not clear.

It is a 3124KB and the King 78X78 mattress is in need of replacement.

I was hoping for some kind of spring coil replacement matterss. Has anyone replaced theirs?

We sleep on a memory foam/dense foam hybrid that is 3.5", on top of a 5+" thick air mattress that I inflate/deflate for packing. No inner spring mattress will be low enough to fit, I think.
