Default 2009 3023 purchase question

Looked at a TM that private owner has in my area and they are asking 14000....looked at NADA prices and reflects High of 10000 to low retail of 8000.

Any input on a fair price? Really like the idea of low profile trailer and condition is good maybe better than good. Thanks!

Where is your area? Prices on the west coast are always higher than elsewhere, though NADA does not recognize that.

The real question - what is included that might be considered extra? NADA asks you about "options", and gives you (or the owner) a LONG list of possibilities. Most of them are NOT options, and should not be checked off. The major genuine options are air conditioning and awning, as well as wing hitch - most other items are standard equipment. The owner/advertiser might have checked off things like "water heater" and "furnace", both of which are standard but would have increased the NADA value.

Has the owner added any valuable equipment, such as solar panels? Is a WDH included? How about a brake controller? Things like these will not show up in NADA.

On the other hand, the 3023 is a particularly valuable model these days.

Bottom line - it sounds a bit high to me, but may not be outrageous if the condition is excellent and some goodies are included.

Good luck.

Bill

Our experience with nada used prices for trailmanor campers is they mean almost nothen.

1) Trailmanors has too small of used sales population reported for any real data. You need a larger sample population to produce good reliable statistics results.

2) Because nada ask you for the zip code you belive that they take into account regional sales. But the times, I have looked and entered different zip codes for east coast, west coast, mid west, north, south. I get the same value. We know that west cost has alway had higher values. I don't think they have enough data to deliver these results.

3) in general NADA alway seems to be low to what we have seen the TM's sell for.

My belief is; there is not enough data on sales for NADA to produce Trailmanor reliable used sale results. I feel that NADA is applying a general rule of thumb depreciation schedule based on what the popup or travel trailer depericates as an industry.

Thanks Bill your right west coast is always a premium! He doesnt have any options other than what came with unit. It is the first one Ive seen up close and is much larger than my previous 91' Toyota Mini-Crusier which my DW likes.

Our highlander does very good towing. We towed on grades exceeding 12%. On the interstate that has a limit of either 7 or 7.5% we have almost no slow down.

Check to make sure you have the factory tow package. Several years ago toyota only put the tow package on certain models. It was not an option on the other models.

FYI we decided to get the factory hitch because it has a higher ground hitch clearance and has much more bolts holding the hitch to the frame then any aftermarket hitch.

I think you have the same engine, but a different transmission?
