Default Getting a remote TM purchase home

Have been looking for a 3124KB and found a promising one several states away. How do you handle tags for the TM to get it home? I live in NC and must take the signed title in to get my tags (no temps). So, assuming the seller isn't comfortable with me using his tags to get it home, how do I get tags/plates to get it home without several round trips?

First I would call the NC DMV office, see what they say, if there is not a temp tag to put on the trailer then I think a signed NOTORIZED bill of sale should work for LEO.

+2 call your dmv.

When we bought a remote one our dvm told use what we needed for the state it was titled in. Also, our dmv told use we needed no plates to transport it home.

When we bought ours in TX; we got a temp tag to get it home. Took in the bill of sale to the FL DMV to get title and tag. Also had to pay FL a big state tax on the purchase price.
