The yellow "Murphy Bed" sign is the bottom of the bed. It folds straight up & down. The couch cushions are removed when the bed is down.

So the bed must be down before the roof is lowered ? Hope they have an interlock.

Yes, the bed has to be down to lower the roof.

Do not know about a lock, though.

Looks like you loose a lot of storage and I am not sure if I like the wardrobe that low. As for the bed, when it's up you can't get to anything stored in the overhead storage, which is where we keep books and games and you can't see the clock. I would be worried that the bed would fall on me while sitting on the sofa, if something like a strong wind rocked the TM. Plus you have to remake your bed every night and store those items every day. Does the Rise have a black water holding tank or still the recirculating toilet? I do like the extra counter space by the stove though. Also is there a way to raise the trailer if you lose battery power they say you have solar but if you are camped under trees solar will not charge up? Guess it's all in getting use to something new. We were surprise as to how much we could store in our 2010 2720SD when we return from trips.

Suspect that worst case you can plug the TV in and raise/lower the roof that way. Mechanism looks like a power seat on steroids and that mechanism must stay in sync. Wonder if there are any counterweights or coiled springs like a garage door. Must be some kind of safety mechanism to keep the sky from falling if there is a failure.

One of the features of the "conventional" TM is that the final movement of the modules is horizontal and easy to lock in place.

When I saw the coiled wiring, assumed it was for the roof lights, but did not ask.

The recirculating toilet is standard and cassette toilet is optional. They had a crane pendant control to operate the 12V raise/lowering system. The counter space is "massive"!

No counter weights or cables. The gear boxes would be hard to get out of sync, unless a coupling came loose on one of the drive shafts.

I assumed the four vertical lift/lower post were raised & lowered with worm gears driven by gear boxes. If this is true, it should be safe without fear of the roof lowering unexpectedly.

Coiled wire is probably power for the AC unit on the roof, had something like that on my Fleetwood TT.
