Default leak in cupboard under bed

We seem to have a leak that has appeared in the cupboard under the king bed. Have noticed a little water in front of this cupboard. Outside there is a constant dripping from under the rear wheel well. We usually camp with water and electric hook ups. Noticed this after a blow out on the plumbing side. Would this leak be related to the toilet or the shower area or somewhere else?

Although you didn't specify, I presume that the water is clear, not blue or green. Assuming you use a blue or green toilet deodorant, that would eliminate the toilet. If the water is on the floor inside, that would eliminate the gray water tank, since it is below the floor. Taken together, these would suggest to me that it is a fresh water leak from somewhere in the (pressurized) plumbing system. Does the water appear even if you haven't been using any of the fixtures? This would tend to confirm a leak from a pressurized pipe or fitting, as opposed to a leak in a sink drain. The test, of course, is to turn off the campground water supply, open a faucet somewhere to relieve the pressure in the sytem, dry up the water on the floor, then wait a couple hours and see if the water returns. Assuming a leak in the pressurized water system, it will not come back.

The four plumbed fixtures are the kitchen sink, the bathroom sink, the tub, and the outside shower. If there is a leak under the kitchen sink or the bathroom sink, it will be easy to spot because the floor will be wet under the fixture. If those floor are dry, then you are left with the other two. You can remove the outside shower enclosure fairly easily. Having done so, you can peer into the space behind it, which is where both the outside shower and the tub are plumbed. This will probably show you the source of the leak.

Get back to us with more.

Where exactly are you seeing water? Inside or in front of the cupboard on the carpet/linoleum? Which wheel well are you seeing the leak? The side with the bathroom or the side with the range?

In addition to the possible leak locations Bill mentioned, there are also plumbing lines that run UNDER the bathroom floor to feed the tub and outside shower. Did you recently run anything through that tunnel under the floor?

It appears to be fresh water drip on the plumbing side. We are mostly on campsite pressurized water. The water appears inside the trailer in the carpet area under the kingsized bed area.

Have you checked under both of the sinks for a leak?

I think we need a little more info to what you've checked and not checked. Bill also asked a number of questions, answers to which would help us lead you in the right direction.

Is it the storage area under the bed that is accessible from the inside, the storage area that is accessible from the outside, or both?

If it's either of these areas, I would suspect the leak to be from somewhere in the bathroom area, possible the tub/shower or the outside shower assembly. I wouldn't think the bathroom sink would leak into that area.

Regards,

Bob

Finding the source of leaks can be tricky.

In our case, a loose nut on the outside shower fixture caused some dripping. The water followed the inside corner of the wall and floor and eventually ended up dripping outside all the way on the other side of the trailer, where I noticed it. Tracing it back to the source was difficult because so much of its path was hidden. Once I found it, all I had to do was tighten the nut.

Good luck.
