We dropped the TM off at the dealer/seller on Friday, 3/26 with the understanding we would be back for it on Saturday 4/3. It was there for some requested (by us) maintenance and to fix the lift latches (bolts fall out when driving), the bottom of the top half of the door was warped, the door pin clamp did not hold the door in place when the door was opened, there were burn marks (from the lights being hot when they closed up) on the pad behind the couch, and the bolts on the propane tanks were painted over and couldn't be held by a wrench while trying to get the tank off. They called on Tuesday and told us it was ready. We arrived on Saturday and found nothing done on the list of problems we provided. All they did was our requested work. I was ready to walk away from it at that point. The service manager was of no help. Finally the salesman stopped by and heard so he calls over the sales manager who took charge. The "new and improved" clamp to hold the door pin doesn't look any different. In fact they had to squeeze it with pliers to "help" it grip the post tighter. To deal with the warped door, they put another plastic holding knob near the bottom of the door (exactly like the factory installed one about 2/3 of the way up) to hold the bottom of the door in. They also drilled a hole and placed a bolt through the lower left corner of the top half of the door to better hold the plastic latch that holds the top and bottom halves of the doors together. They did replace the panel with the burn marks. They filled the empty propane tank and thought my idea of a quick release to remove the tank and leave the holding brackets in place was a good idea, but they did nothing to remedy it now. Finally, three hours later (when I expected to already be back home) we were able to leave for home.
One TM owner told me about his problem with the tires being unbalanced and causes bolts to loosen and fall out on the shell latches. We asked for this to be checked (after all it is under warranty) and were told that they called TM direct to ask about this. We got a call from Ed Lytell (?) the service manager at TM informing us that TM doesn't warranty the tires and if they are balanced or not it would be up to us to find out. The dealership was of no help in this either.
We're going camping this weekend so we will get to see how things perform.
Before anyone mentions "bad" employees, understand the sales manager and service manager have the same last name as the owner of the dealership. It's a family thing.
Maybe now I should change my name to:
