Thumbs up Twin Creek Campgrounds in Gatlinburg

We stayed at the Twin Creek Campgrounds in Gatlinburg over July 4th (2008) for 7 days. This was where we went for our maiden voyage after getting our new TM. This park set the bar high among campgrounds. It is very clean, safe & nice people. It is 2 miles off the parkway (we would walk to downtown Gatlinburg) but there is a trolley stop there too. There is a grocery store across the road/gas station so you can get anything you need there. The only negative to the park is the price but it is worth it. They do give you discount for Good Sam members. The other negative was that they had a 5 night minimum stay at the 4th of July so we needed to make sure that we could stay longer during that time. We did add on another night once we were there because we enjoyed the park so much. We stayed on the creek side which was great. We would go walking every evening around the entire park several times & take our dog on a walk.

You feel extremely safe at this park which was a great feeling with our 13 yr. old son when he played with other new friends he made. They come around to pick up your trash daily by 2:00...being in Bear Country you don't want to leave it out so after the pick up you must put it in the dumpsters. This is a pet friendly park & they have a doggy area right beside the pool. This is THE best park to stay at when you are in Gatlinburg. While we were there we went to other parks in the Gatlinburg area & a few down in Pigeon Forge. No other campground compared to Twin Creek in Gatlinburg. Riveredge was nice down in Pigeon Forge but very crowded & by the road so we thought the noise from the road would be a negative. They say that the bathhouse there is superb though but we love our little bathroom so we don't use the public ones.

We are going back for our son's 14th Birthday & Thanksgiving in November for 9 days. We decided to stay in Pigeon Forge because we want to be closer to Dollywood since we will be going there a lot with our season passes. The Christmas decorations at Dollywood is just beautiful. After much research we have picked Creekside RV park so we will let you know what it is like once we stay there. If someone has stayed there please let us know what your experience was like. We will definitely post a review for others...stay tuned.
