I took the TM out for the first time this year and I'm happy to report that the toilet worked just fine. All it needed was more water in order to complete the charge.

Thanks everyone!

Ok, I had a few problems with my toilet this last weekend.

When first filling the toilet to charge, it seemed to take a lot of water to do so. Now, I did not measure it as I was using the shower head to fill, but it definitely seemed like more than 3 gallons. I also made sure that the T handle was pushed in. Eventually it became charged and the toilet worked except...

The second issue was that the gage did not work at all. The last time I had it out (I am new to this so it was only my second trip) the gage worked fine. It is a little unnerving to use it over the weekend, never knowing when it was going to back up or get full.

Has anyone experienced this or know how to trouble shoot? Thanks, Mike

Mike, the gauge should pull right out of the top with a little prying on the rubber gasket. Clean it and you should be fine. Good Luck

John is exactly right. Since it worked before, it is almost certainly gunked up, and it is easy to clean once you get it out. As you are doing so, check to confirm that the stem of the gage, and the twist element in the center, are not bent. And be sure you don't bend them during the remove/replace action. They must be straight.

I also noticed with mine that the gauge didn't seem to work after the charge, but then after a few uses it started to move. I guess I thought I would see it move with every use, which is not the case.
