Default marker lights

rear shell marker lights (3 center ones) seem dim (especially the very center). Bad ground? How would I verify?

Run a separate ground wire for testing. Theoretically a wire to the frame would work, but the TM only has one little wire grounding the frame so not always.

okay, so the lens covers pop off and then I can interrupt the ground?

Use a meter between the test ground wire and the lamp to figure out which side is hot and which is ground. If it is not obvious. Do not interrupt the ground, just connect the test ground to it. If ground is the problem it will get brighter.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I never did get confirmation of how to access the wires for the marker lights. Of the 3 middle, the right one is out and the middle is dim. do the marker covers pop off, or are they accessed via the inside?

The covers pop off. There is no access from inside the TM. If the middle light is dim, but the ones on either side are properly bright, it sounds like a ground problem in the middle light. Pop off the cover, remove the bulb, make sure the contacts in the socket are clean, and maybe put a small dab of bulb grease on the bulb. Then look at the ground wire from the socket (probably white) and see that its attachment to the aluminum skin is clean and tight.

Now do the same to the other troubled lights.

roger that, Bill. To be sure, though of the 3 middle marker lights, the left is bright, the middle is dim and the right is off. Again, only the middle 3 lights. the 2 outer marker lights on the back of the camper are fine as well.
