Default campground near Atlanta

Has anyone ever stayed at the Atlanta Marietta RV Resort? Need a campground that isn't too dumpy to stay at in September that can accommodate a large rig. Thanks for any help.

Don't know how close you want but there is a nice ACOE on Victoria Lake, that's outside Woodstock, Ga. About a 20 to 30 minute run to downtown Atlanta. Traffic dependent of course.

I know where it is and have driven by, if Marietta is the desired location you can do better at Jim Miller Park.

We have stayed north and south of Atlanta at the state parks for one night just off I-75. It was many years ago, we liked: Red Top Mountain SP and High Falls SP. From down town to Red top it was less than 1.5 hours north and to High Fall it was south by less than 1 hour. We picked these parks to miss the rush hours of traffic.
