Default Seal when closed.

I looked at a 2720SL the other day, and when we closed it down, the seal never touched the other shell, in detail... the front shell when it closed down on the rear shell that seal, was about 2 inches from touching the top of the rear shell, and you can see into the trailer, to me that does not seem right, the owner said it does not leak, I find that as not to be true. Is that how these things are? I mean anything can crawl in there. can someone post a few pictures of the seals ?

sound like the center latches need adjusting. The ones that latch when you step on the stirrups. There are some nuts and bolts that can be loosen and you can adjusted the latch by sliding it.

That makes sense to me now, cause it was hard as hell to close that thing up too. it did not pop up like the ones I see in the videos but it was not hard to lift either, just a bear to close, then I see this big ol' gap . maybe it is worth it, just needs a good cleaning and maybe replace the p wood.

It might need torsion bar adjustment too.

I have a 2004 3023 with center latch issues. On the passenger side, the latch was loose and the trailer was driven that way until the latch tore itself out of the lift bar, rendering the holes that it mounted in unusable. I cut and drilled a piece of steel that attached to the four bolts that connect the lift bar and the torsion bar, and has new mounting holes for the center latch. It turns out that I was able to take those four bolts out while the top was up. But be careful if you try this, and don't ever try it with the top down, there is too much energy on the torsion bar that way and it will snap out of the lift bar and possibly injure you!

On the driver side, the metal is OK but the latch needs adjustment.

You will need to use the largest bolts that will fit, washers, and lockwashers, so that there is enough force and friction holding these latches in place. Otherwise, they will tend to go out of adjustment.
