Some people have found that they can carry a 10-gallon Barker blue tote in the empty space on the spare tire carrier under the TM. It just fits between the frame cross rails. I haven't been able to verify, since my tote is an old one with slightly different dimensions, but it is worth a look.

If you rummage through the Plumbing Forum, you'll find the discussion.

I have a Thedford 12 gallon tote stowed in the exact spot that Bill mentioned, between the crossframe members, on top of the spare tire frame on the street side of the spare tire. I secure it with a couple of bungee cords so that it does not fall off when your lifting the spare tire holder back in place. You hardly know it is there unless you bend down to see it. Works great.

Not so sure if BlueGrass is correct about "full hookups." According to the information I just read from the Internet, the Fishing Bridge is the only campground that have water and sewer hookups, but it provides no electricity.

Fishing Bridge RV Park

The RV park at Fishing Bridge is the only one in Yellowstone that is for hard-sided vehicles only, with no tent camping allowed. It is also the only place in the park where you will find water and sewer hookups. There are no electrical hookups, but you can use a generator from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. A store, restaurant and visitor center are at the Fishing Bridge Village. Therefore, it is one of the most luxurious campgrounds for RVs in the park. It sits on picturesque Yellowstone Lake, with hiking trails not far from camp. Despite the name, there is no fishing from Fishing Bridge, but you can do so elsewhere on the lake, along with canoeing and kayaking.
Can someone confirm?

Thanks.

We stayed there last summer for about 5 or 6 days and had full hookups. Not sure if the entire campground at fishing bridge has full hookups, but we and everyone else around us did. Here is the link to the campground: http://www.yellowstonenationalparklo...-park-255.html

Efforts Underway To Restore Electrical Hook-Ups At Yellowstone’s Fishing Bridge RV Park

Efforts are underway to restore electrical service to sites at Yellowstone’s only RV park.

The infrastructure at the Fishing Bridge RV Park was designed and built in the 1960s, before RVs were in widespread use, when travel trailers were smaller, and when campers’ electrical needs were limited to lights and heat.

After the RV park closed for the season last fall, an assessment revealed that the electrical service had exceeded its useful life and in some locations had deteriorated to a point where the continued use of electrical hook-ups would pose an unacceptable risk to visitors. The decision was made this winter to stop providing electrical hook-ups for trailers and RV’s until upgrades could be made.

Planning, compliance and design efforts are underway on a project to restore electrical service to all the sites in the RV park. Work to install new electrical service to the first 100 sites is anticipated to begin later this year. It is not known when the first sites with restored electrical service will be available for reservation and use. The goal is to upgrade the electrical service in all 346 sites in the RV park in time for the start of the 2012 season.

Individuals making reservations for the Fishing Bridge RV Park this year are being advised to reserve a site which will allow a generator if they desire electrical service. To minimize the noise impact of generators, some sites will not allow generators and the RV park has established a policy which prohibits the use of generators between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.

The Fishing Bridge RV Park is one of five campgrounds in Yellowstone operated by Xanterra Parks & Resorts under a concession contract with the National Park Service. It is the only campground in the park with hook-ups, and only hard-sided vehicles are allowed there. All sites are available by advance reservation.

More information on campgrounds and campground reservations inside Yellowstone National Park is available online at http://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisi...ellowstone.htm.

Information on campgrounds and RV parks outside the park can be found at http://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisi...ellowstone.htm.

This was in 2010. I made reservations Jan. 2011 and was told they would had most of the electric done. We called before we left in June 2011 and was told we would have electric, which we did. Only a few sites did not have the upgrade done. I would hope they are finished by now.

My guess is the USAToday article was written in 2010 (and info was likely just copied from the NPS website, rather than first-hand author experience) when all electrical was shutdown for one season. IIRC, there was another forum member that stayed there at that time and had posted about the outage. They had made reservations months before and then were noitified that they would not have electric during the time of their reservation.

Sounds like most if not all sites now have the upgraded electric.

EDIT: found the thread from 2009/2010: http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...fishing+bridge
