Default fiamma awning fabric repair

Has anyone done the same DUMB thing I did: tear the fabric of the awning on the top corner of the door?

I have a triangular tear about 10" on a side. I never even noticed it when I did it. I discovered it on a subsequent trip when I opened the awning. I put some duct tape on it (from the underside -- I can't reach the top side) for a stopgap measure but now I need to do something permanent.

I called Camping World and they said that replacing the fabric would be $400. That's a no-go!

Suggestions or ideas would be most welcome.

Thanks!

I had my fabric replaced by Custom RV in Anaheim.

As I recall, the cost of the fabric is a little over $100.00

I do not recall the labor charge.

The fabric is not identical to the original, because the original is no longer available.

But, they are both blue.

I used this product on the awning on my previous camper.

Not endorsing camping world, as you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

Not a perfect repair but is functional and certainly less noticeable than duct-tape

When you find your final repair material, Close the TM. keeping the awing crank out. extend the awning and lower legs perpendicular to ground ( do not extend the poles. In this position, you should be able to reach the top of the awning at the tear.

Gorilla Tape is an excellent "temporary" fixer... made by the makers of Gorilla Glue. Unlike the glue it is NOT activated by water, sticks better, lasts FAR longer than duct tape, and fixed my similar tear (also caused by the door) on my pop-up.

Thank you...I did a search on the tape and it sounds good. I don't need any now, but I think I'm gonna go get a couple rolls anyhow...one to keep in the TM and one to keep around the house

Used this on my previous camper's awning.

Worked well and the repair was almost invisible.
Might find it cheaper elsewhere though.
