Default Drain 2

I have opened both drain valves in front of the tire on the street side of the TM. For an odd reason I needed to pop up after I thought I had winterized and saw my fresh water tank still 3/4/ full of water. I MI that would have been a big problem come spring. Is there any reason the tank is not draining. Is there any suggestions as to what is going on?

Also make sure the drain tube opening is clear. I had an incident where a small insect plugged the drain spout with a mud cocoon and that prevented my fresh water tank from emptying.

In the 2720SL, the fresh water tank is under the kitchen sink. To put a drain in the tank, the factory simply put a threaded hole in the side of the tank near the bottom, and screwed an elbow into it, with a piece of tubing connected to the other side of the elbow that goes through the floor. In my TM, the hole in the floor through which the tubing goes is a bit too close to the tank, and so the tank compresses the tubing maybe half way. This reduces the drain rate out of the tank significantly, though it does drain. But, if the tank shifted slightly, I could see that the tubing could be completely closed off (though that has never happened to me).

I would check that. Since the fresh tank is vented, having open faucets shouldn't affect draining the fresh water tank, just the plumbing and hot water heater.

Default Thanks

All good suggestions. It was a mud cocoon.

Thanks for posting the resolution to your drain down issue. I am glad it was a simple fix. Those little critters pick the most inconvenient places, at least for us, as their breeding grounds.

Ha Ha! I thought those things were only a problem down here in the South. It's like they know which hole will cause the most problems if they plug it. They can get pretty creative with rock-hard red GA clay.

"saw fresh water tank still 3/4" Were you looking at the tank or at the gauges???

On my camper ahead of the tire are 2 drains (freshwater, hotwater). Freshwater should drain without opening the faucets.

The hot water drain you will need to open the faucets.

Also there are two drains on the same side behind the wheel. Both you should open the faucets.

I would open all the faucets in the camper including the outside shower. Both the hot and cold side. Also make sure you gray and black water are drained.
