Default Radio Installation

I am so envious of all of you late model TM owners. Ours is a 2000 2619 and I want to install a radio/CD player in it. Unfortunately, it has no speakers, no cutout for a radio over the fridge and I assume, no wiring for radio or speakers anywhere. I want to install the speakers in the ends of our front shell cabinet and my idea is to run the speaker wires back to a point where I can plug them together with speaker wires from the radio after the TM is opened. My biggest challenge will be in figuring out where to connect the power lead from the radio. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. By the way, I am assuming that cutting a hole for the radio just above the fridge won't create some great problem.

Thanks:

WWG

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that speaker wires are installed even in units that don't come with radios. The wire runs under the moulding between the wall and ceiling street side on the front shell. You might take a real good look in the cabinet above the front bed. They may even be hiding behind the sheet metal in that cabinet. A call to the factory would confirm it either way, if no one here is able to do so.

ShrimpBurrito is on the money I found the radio speaker wires and the antenna cable up behind the molding when working on replacing the wood panel.

On the other hand the power for the lights hanging on the side walls runs down the center cable run on the ceiling sooooo a tap off of that will supply power that is if you wanted to put the radio in the front cabinets. Just a thought.

Good luck

As far as power goes, I think I would just wire it to the cigarette lighter circuit. It's right behind where the radio goes, and shouldn't cause a problem with overloading any circuit.
