Level Height
I did a search but came up empty, Is there a place or can someone who has either a 2720 or a 3023 tell me what the standard level height is, ? I am wanting to set my WDH ball mount on my suburban so I would just need to know the height of a level TM so I can measure if I need a new shank shorter or longer than what came in the box of my new WDH, so I will then be ready if I do buy either TM . I am going to look at a 2720 SL and a 3023 in the next couple of days one is a 2003 2720sl the other is a 1996 3023 in Excellent condition so I am told.

Conventional wisdom says that after hookup, the ball should be about 19" above the ground. Since the tow vehicle will squat to some degree when you drop the hitch weight on the ball, the ball must start a bit higher than 19". For your Suburban, a quick guess for the amount squat would be an inch or two. Your WDH will remove some of the squat, so you are back pretty close to 19".
Of course if you add a lift kit later, the ball must be moved higher to maintain level.
Hope this helps

My 03 2720 with a 2" lift kit installed and 14" tires, is 20" to the top of the coupler (ball socket) Without 2" lift kit it was about 18".
