How to attach pictures to posts - Page 2

I was able to re-post the pictures in both of my posts (one above also). I originally had my camera set to high quality - 1600 X 1200 pixels which makes a larger JPG file. I was able to downsize the file using Adobe PhotoDeluxe to an acceptable size. For the purposes of this board a 640 X 480 pixel setting should give a good balance between resolution and file size.

Ooooh! Nice job! I like the new pictures that you added back in your original post.

This should solve a lot of problems.

For everyone struggling with the same problem, remember that if you don't have a sexy graphics program like Photodeluxe, you can reduce file size easily in Microsoft Paint, which is already on your computer. It does a nice job on this task, even if it is not good for much else.

Unless Chris steps in with a correction, my experience with boards on this software is that's a per-user allotment that does not have any time-dependent (like annual) increases. Depending on how much space is being leased on the server for this site and how many users are registered, Chris may be able to bump up the per-user allotment rather substantially. For instance, the TundraSolutions.com website (where I also am a moderator) uses the same forum software but allows each user 20MB for pictures.

If the current allotment becomes too constraining, you might want to start a thread in the Board Suggestions forum about increasing the per-user allotment.
