At the end of each torsion bar, there is a right angle bend and a short stub extending beyond the bend. The stub is 2 or 3 inches long, and it is supposed to be tucked into and through a bracket on the frame under the trailer. If the stub comes out of this bracket, then the torsion bar will not lift the shell on that side, which would result in the shell coming up at a cockeyed angle. Same thing would happen if the adjustment bolt has fallen out of the bracket. Maybe one of these is doing it?

Same thing would happen if, at the other end of the torsion bar, the lift arm (the white rectangular box beam) slipped down on the torsion bar. This would be more obvious, though, because the shell would be very crooked when raised.

Thanks Bill for the response.

I am currently searching for a good price on those horizontal tanks.

I just got a call from Sonia in parts today saying she was given the unpleasant tasks of telling me that the raised the prices on the flaps. I guess they all did rock, paper, scissors on who would call me. The prices for flaps went up 300% from the earlier quoted price of $23 each to $70 each for the smaller ones. In all about a $270 increase in the whole.

I wish I could sew and was handy like that, but I am much better at the carpentry and mechanical fixes. I think I will make the brutal 9 hour drive each way. If they can really get it done for me, it will be worth it. Still love the TM. I'll just get a good audiobook and some Red Bull!!

Ken,

I'll give you a call shortly. Thank you for the offer

Old post, and I normally don't bump ancient threads, but this should help somebody along the way. I'll also try to find another thread that lists places that can service our babies...I'm pretty sure it was Victor who did our orientation when we bought our USED 3023 a couple years ago

Van City RV - Colorado Springs, Colorado
1426 Selix Grove,
Colorado Springs, CO 80915
(719) 377-6999

Van City RV in Colorado Springs, Colorado will do Warranty and Service work on TrailManor travel trailers!

DAVID AND VICTOR are there to help you.

David is the Service Manager.

Victor works in Service and he knows the TrailManor travel trailers very well; he worked in the Service Department at THE CAR SHOW in Colorado Springs, Colorado for 17 years!

Reminder: You can place a parts order direct to the factory by calling 605-239-4002!

I'm in Colorado Springs (on my way west) and stopped by Van City. Since I was in town, I was hoping they had some parts but they haven't gotten any yet. Victor looked familiar and after I told him about their (The Car Show) work on my TM (post 60 vehicle pileup), he remembered working on it. Both guys are very nice!

Default Repair in Colorado

Victor (Rodriguez?) of The Car Show repair and maintenance now works at Van City RV, 1426 Selix Grove, Colorado Springs 80915. 719-377-6999
www.VanCityRV.com
We had him do several repairs this summer, and it was wonderful to know that someone who has years of experience on TMs was doing the work.
