I think my TM manual said I can level with the jacks, 2 of my travel trailer I could level with the jacks. I have never done it with the jacks, it's to much work. We just use blocks for side-to-side and the tongue jack forward aft. Then firmly put down the jacks. We're normally level within 1 minute with blocks.

I agree with the plastic lago type blocks. They are great. You can do the same thing with 2x6 but you need many different lengths and they are heavy.

Nice, but might be overkill on a TM. 2x6's with a hole drilled in them and a plastic strap screwed on one end would work equally, they wouldn't weigh 3 pounds each and you could make four of them for less than 5 bucks.

I just bought the Andersen Camper Leveler. Haven't used it yet, but looks easy. Couldn't get my Bal leveler to fit around 15" tires.

When I got my TM I looked around to see what I had on hand. I combined 2X6 on the bottom, 4X4 in the middle, and a 2X4 on the top. I made the 2X4 long enough to make a handle. I screwed and glued them together 3 years ago. With the handles I can easily carry two of them in one hand and my drill for lowering the jacks in the other. On very unlevel sites I have stacked them two high on one side. They have worked well for me.

I also have a set of the plastic RV leveling blocks and a two tier leveler I got a deal on at a garage sale. I use the two tier leveler often and, and have seldom needed the additional blocks. Before I got the two tier leveler I used two lengths of 2X6’s cut at 45 degree angels on the ends. One is longer than the other so they can be stacked under the wheels if needed for side to side leveling. Here is a link to the ones I made in use in use.

A couple of months back I had one of my levelers start to fail. I would extend it down and it would collapse as soon as I took pressure off the screw. In working with the BAL rep, I sent him some pictures of what I was seeing. He noticed my blocking under the leveler. He informed me that the leveler works the best when extended at least over 50 of it's hight. My current levelers are 24", so they should be beyond 12". Now that's not always possible, but I do keep that bit of info in my head when I set up. I won't lift the camper off it's tires just to get high enough, but if I do extend them a lot, I'm not as worried now when I do extend them.
