Toilet doesn't flush

Hi! We just purchased a 2006 2619. We discovered (too late!) that the toilet doesn't flush. We are TOTALLY unfamiliar with how it should work and don't have a clue where to start. I did check the fuse on the toilet and it is ok. ANY suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you precharge it with about 2-3 gals of water? If so do you hear the pump run when you push button?

Yes, we precharged it. No noise at all when the button is pushed.

If you have a meter or tester, check the power to the switch and power out of the switch. If both are good, pump might be bad or stuck. If the TM sat for a some time and was not cleaned good, pump could be gunked up. Let it sit with water in it for a while then try again. If that fails, there is an exploded view of toilet in this forum you can search for it or email me and I will send to you.

I can meter it as you suggested. I think it did sit for quite awhile before we got it (we have reason to question some of the information we were given by the dealer we purchased it from). We picked it up in California and used it all the way back to Colorado so it has had quite a bit of water running through it for almost a week. I appreciate your help! I'll look for that view of the toilet.

I haven't had the problem, but isn't there a fuse in the toilet? Maybe that needs to be changed?

That being said, I just burnt out the fuse over this past weekend on our toilet. Thankfully I was prepared and had extras of the glass fuses of various sizes (thank you TMOwner's Forum for that!). I would change the fuse anyway just to be certain that's not the problem. If the wiring/fuse does turn out to be ok, it looks like it might be the pump.

Remember, if the 5-amp fuse in the back of the toilet blows repeatedly, Thetford recommends replacing it with a 7.5 or 8 amp fuse. Apparently, minor differences in the mechanisms can overload the fuse in a few units

I switched from the 5 amp to a 7.5 amp fuse in the Thetford 12 months ago and have not blown one since. I was averaging about 3 flushes per 5 amp fuse!
