How do you modify new roof latches to fit an older camper?

I have a 1996 TM 3023. The old roof latches are pretty worn and bent up. I went down to my local dealer and they ordered me replacements. Unknown to me at the time the replacement parts were for the newer models and would not fit without modification. I was able to make modifications on the exterior (2nd) section, but I am stumped on the interior section. any thoughts?

I'd call the dealer and ask them...if they do a lot of work on TM's they must have encountered this situation and have a fix for it.

If they can't answer your question I'd call a different dealer.
