Someone here insists on not using a WDH because they are so close to capacity on the TM axle and don’t want to redistribute any weight onto that axle. That said, I highly recommend using one.

Thanks guys
Good news is that it looks like I got the 5000 lb axle with the 40 gallon water tank. Torsion suspension, 12 inch hubs and 6 lug wheels, ez lube bearings. Now I need to pull a hub to see if I got the auto adjust brakes and what condition they are in.
This takes a lot of the concern for overloading the trailer axle away.
With everything I read about TM published weight being way low I was just too nervous about shifting weight to the trailer until I knew it could handle it. I knew the f150 could safely deal with the tongue load for this trip.

I would check the capacity of the truck hitch and the ball mount, then check the draw weight. My 2011 F-150 hitch had 500 pound tongue weight capacity (stamped right on the hitch) and so did the ball mount. My 09 2720 has aver 600 pounds draw weight. Bought an Anderson WDH.

Get new seals before you pull the hub. The old ones are no good after being removed. Also something to go under the axle and keep dirt away, a few rolls of paper towels, a can of brake cleaner, a grease gun and two full tubes of grease. It will take most of one to push the old grease out of the channels in the axle while the hub is off, and then put more grease in the bearings once the hub is back on.
