A general thought about WDH's and anti-sway devices: The heavier your "fully loaded" tongue weight, the more you need a WDH, and the less you need anti-sway. We could throw in some extra variables like the GVWR-to-TW ratio, and length of trailer, etc. etc., but it doesn't change the basic corollary. Besides, too much science makes my head hurt.

Or just take it for a long drive (make sure the tires are inflated to spec). If constantly correcting steering or it feels like the tail is wagging the dog then a WDH may be in order. 60-65 mph is the critical speed.

The Trailmanor I am now have made a verbal agreement on is a 2000 2720 SL
So not sure if I have too much over kill with a 1000 /10,000 # WDH

Just because it is rated to 1,000 lb doesn't mean you have to crank it all the way up.

Use a different link in the chain.
