Default Interior black streaks

Has anyone else experienced black streaks on the front interior walls? It looks like where the outer shell has rubbed the inner shell. I don't want to damage the interior walls and I'm thinking of using the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponges. I'll wait a few weeks to read any responses before I tackle this project.

"Awesome", from the dollar store, works great for me.

Dona Jo,

We have used the Magic Eraser sponge on the black marks you describe with great results. The problem comes when some of the ceiling paint has worn away. If that is the case the marks will return as the seal interacts with the closed shell ceiling.

This happens, especially on the ceiling of the front shell. When it happens, all the cleaning in the world won't help, because you are not seeing dirt, but oxidized bare aluminum. And the bare aluminum will continue to oxidize and look black.

Use the Search tool on the term UHMW to find earlier discussions of this topic.
