Default Getting One

I've been lurking on this board for over a month.
We saw our first TM on the road coming from church about 6 weeks ago and went to the TM web site to see what it really was.
We had been thinking of getting a TT for a while and were blown away by the TM. Found out a friend of ours had just bought a used one and we went and looked at it, that did it. We found a used one and will be picking it up next week.
We are looking forward to many happy trails in the few years we have left.

you are quite right rvcycleguy.,
it is a 2004 2720 that has been taken care of really well.
The wife and I are both in our 70,s and hope to do a little camping over the next few years.

I hope you enjoy your TM! Congratulations on your purchase.

Get out there and camp all you can! There are so many beautiful places to see out there!

We bought our 2720 when the kids were 12 and 15; now it's just us and we still love all the room and the setup. I've checked out a lot of other trailer's floorplans and I haven't found anything that I'd want instead of our TrailManor.

One thing to be sure of is that the TM torsion bars are properly tuned and if you have a slide (didn't say which 2720 you are buying) that it moves in and out easily.

If right on one hand will open and close. If typical used it may take two hands and a bit of a grunt. Any harder and something is wrong that may or may not be easily correctible.

Many of us here are getting incessant mass mailings for medicare so that is not necessarily a handicap.

Other than that there are checklists to go through on this forum to make sure everything important works but all accessories are replaceable/available. If anything maintaining the wiring/plumbing takes more effort than the components themselves.

Big thing immediately is the tires age/condition/inflation. You will find more ideas/opinions here than members so will not reiterate but is important that you know what you are doing (and that you have a good TV indcates some thinking on it) but the tire size is something that shall we say TM scrimpted on a bit so inflation and monitoring is very important. Many here have gone to 15" tires of LRD or E.

Beyond that ask anything and someone will probably know.

The P.O. upgraded to 15 inch E tires.
He also printed out a check list from this site and is including it with the TM.
I've had several campers in the past including canvas fold downs, 2 Winnies, and several tag alongs so I'm not unfamiliar with towing or equipping a camper.
We are looking forward to the uniqueness of the TM and because of the ease of towing plan on doing some great camping trips starting in the spring.
One question: do most Tm,ers carry a dedicated bottle jack or just use the TV jack if needed?

Thanks for the replies !

Carry a bottle jack and DONOT place it under the axle, use the frame. You can get a copy of the owners manual from the tech section if you don't get the original with the camper.

Never thought of that type of jack. Just ordered one from Home Depot with a $20.00 gift card I had received from them. Thanks for the insight.
