Eterna Bond roof sealant tape
Has anyone ever used Eterna Bond roof sealant tape on their Trailmanor? I removed all the old caulk and resealed the roof in 2013. Even though it is under a tarp unless it's for use, and I've listed it for sale, it's probably time to re-do and I'd rather get it done now than wait for fall if I haven't sold it.
I've thought that perhaps a good selling point would be that recaulking wouldn't be required for years and years if I instead went to the expense of using the Eterna Bond tape. I've read on other forums that many have not even removed the old caulking, they have simply cleaned it well first. Also read that it lasts for a decade or more.
Just curious if anyone here has used it on their trailer.

I used it in my popup. It did the job, WELL, but is not very aesthetically pleasing.

I saw an interesting note about the $20 Eternbond cleaner spray can. If you get the material safety data sheet, it says it's acetone. Just acetone which you can get at the hardware store for a lot less.

We used it on several campers, has a gray edge that doesn't look very good but it works great.

Thanks everyone. Frugal tip to know the cleaner is just acetone. The article I read about it, being used to seal a camper roof, the camper owner had used mineral spirits to clean all the old caulking, rather than remove it. I'm not tall enough to see the roof of my Trailmanor, even when closed - although I can see the front where it curves down. But the gray edges may explain why the photos I saw were all taken from directly above - so it didn't look bad at all. I would have to say that most will never see any of it, except that at the front end, and maybe the very back of the rear shell. Seems like it is a good long(er) term solution rather than recaulking every few years for the sole purpose of assuring there are no leaks. I think I can live with the gray edges.

I just came across this thread because I'm looking for Eterna bond.
I'd advise to keep acetone away from the Krystal Kote finish. I used a little to remove silicone sealant (acetone dissolves silicone), but it also quickly softens the Krystal Kote.
My plan, which will almost certainly change, is to cut the Eterna Bond strip to be exactly the same width as the existing centre strip on the roof. Then I will secure the original strip to the Eterna Bond.

Yes, they don't mix. But then again almost nothing mixes with Krystal Kote. The Krystal Kote on top of my Trailmanor degenerated from ultraviolet and washed away while cleaning it with the recommended detergent solution. I suspect that if your TM has been kept outside, the Krystal Kote on the roof won't hold up for more than 10 years. Ultraviolet breaks those polymer links.

My Trailmanor has lived in WA, and now in BC, so it doesn't get as direct sunlight as those of you who live in southern USA. I guess if the Krystal Kote has degraded, you're not going to be too concerned if you smudge it a little with acetone!

Another option would be to pull the center strip and use the double sided eternabond (they make a 1 inch wide version) to re-affix the original center strip back down.

Hardest part about this whole plan is getting the Eternabond on in a straight line. Mine looks like crap. Fixed the leak though! I’d like to remove it and try again but I’m not sure how to get it off.
