Default Insurance

While researching insurance information to cover a trailer I'm considering buying, I spoke with a representative from USAA -my insurance company - and was given the following information: Liability is automatically included with the towing vehicle's coverage and the price quoted for collision, comprehensive and towing was only $5.00/month or $60.00/year. For those who are currently members of USAA, this is something you may want to investigate.

Been looking at insurance. I had with California Casualty and it was only $31 per year since I had my auto insurance with them. I switched car insurance with Progressive and saved $600 per year, but TM insurance went to 250 per year. Progressive does not give discount on TM like California because they carried liability on the cars. I am now looking for a cheaper TM carrier. Any suggestions would be helpful. John California will not insure because I do not have car insurance with them. This is as bad as dental scams. John

Just had same discussion with USAA (just bought a TM 2619). Same basic info, $1,000 deductible.

When hooked to the TV ours is covered at no additional cost. There is additional cost if you want it covered when not connected to the TV, such as in the campground. It is about $300 per year through State Farm.

But that SF no charge coverage while towing is liability only.

Try Good Sam. I had Geico, but when they raised my rates, I switched to Good Sam that was cheaper than my original Geico rate. Plus, Good Sam gives you the option of not paying for liability during the time time it s sitting in your garage over winter.
