NP. I do a lot of energy management studies and could tell a Honda eu2000i could run my AC and tried a number of things before deciding the soft-start was the best answer.
To my surprise the Predator with a larger engine had more problem starting the AC than the Honda (which I suspect is somewhat underrated). Finally came to the conclusion that the larger, long-stroke engine could not rev fast enough to keep up with the starting current. Soft start cured that also.
Along the way found the Westpro WH2000 which was actually a 2200w (starting)/1800 (running) device despite the smaller motor, just using more modern components. Incredible: a consumerdevice that was underrated.
Then they came out with the WH2400 and since less than a 10% real increase I could see happening with a minor redesign. That is the one I have been using all this year since only need one and fits in the rear compartment.
That ability to fit in a 14.5" wide compartment eliminated a number of other contenders like the 2400/2600/2800 Yamahas (which all use the same engine). Suspect if I had a 2922 this would not have been an issue.
So it works for me.
ps Northern Tool has a Battery Eliminator Plus on sale for $24.99. When parked in the grotto I can disconnect the coach and have a connection in the rear bumper (can access when closed) for the little
1.33A charger/maintainer (no shipping if have a store nearby). This is working better for the two GC2s than the little HF floats I use on other cars.
