Default wifi rear view camera Newb questions

I'm looking to install above. Not too many recent posts on the subject that I could find. I would like it to be as simple as possible and portable so I can switch between TV's. I'm considering this kit
https://www.amazon.com/Camecho-Wirel...n%3A2888782011

Can I just use a cig adapter to power on the Monitor? I didn't see any that have that connected? I don't have much experience in this sort of thing.
Since the receiver is on the monitor line is that all I need? Just plug and play the monitor?
I'm thinking of wiring the camera to a tail light so its on anytime the running lights are on. This kit has a extension so the transmitter could be at least a bit higher for better reception. I'm thinking of putting the camera on the small shelf that the license plate light provides. Thoughts? ideas??
Merry Christmas everyone - and thanks for viewing. Curt

First, you should read the one star reviews on that device. Trust 1-star reviews on Amazon, especially if you are less technical.

Even one of the 5-star reviews says the device is functional at 30 feet only part of the time, and with lots of interference. And in the reviews that say the picture is black and white, it's because they aren't getting enough signal for color.

It doesn't actually look like the transmitter is waterproof. It looks like it's meant to install within the vehicle, not on a trailer.

If you go through with this, you need to make it so that there is an unobstructed line of sight between the transmitter and the receiver. The aluminum skin of the Trailmanor is likely to block the signal, so you really should get the transmitter on the roof.

Your ideas for powering it would work.

The original one I mentioned seems unobtanium now, this seems to be the replacement.

One I have worked well on a trip.

I have tried the little lozenge shaped ones and they do not have the range needed.

Clip on mirrors help (particularly for judging clearances) but still cannot see directly behind your trailer. I prefer a camera particularly when having to back without a spotter.

Yea I will get one but for now will just have the mirrors. My wife and I do this as a team, even with a camera I would need her to help guide it into the tight space that is in our driveway. I have the tire marked on the ground that it has to hit about 10" sq otherwise its getting in the way of rear access to the gate or sticking out past the driveway (with hitch swung) or on the side for room to trim the hedge. It gets shoehorned in our driveway. As far as the camera any suggestions on a kit < $100? or are the cheap ones no good. Your link in above post is na. I want it just to see who's behind and keeping an eye on the bikes would be nice

Use link in post #3, this seems to be a clone of the one I have.

That comes up as unavailable. Is it waterproof? or at least resistant? Is it a free ap you download for your phone?
What about this kit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-IR-...3D201654159630

Most wireless will not work, I tried three different ones, they work until I mounted them, think the aluminum blocks the signal. If you find one I'll be interested!

I get a good picture on a tab on the dash but is 802.11 Wireless and not just 2.5GHz.
Do have to accept the grid at the top to get proper orientation.

This one claims 50M range through a semi.

Also this seems to be available but have not tried (claims 100M). Looks like a clone of one I have.
