Default Florida campgrounds

We're going to be camping March 29 - April 2 at Kissimmee State Park. This will be our maiden voyage with it. We'll be camping with 3 other families. So, whatever we've forgotten or can't find, someone will help us out.

Is that Lake Kissimmee State Park - Florida State Parks ? Is actually down by Lake Wales.

If not, which one. If so, do you have a site # reserved ?

Hi Scott!
I couldn’t help but to reply. I’ve been to Tarpon Springs many time's! I had an uncle that lived there in westwood village. I was there 3 years ago, there's not much left of the Sponge dock's anymore I noticed since the 1960's, I love the area!

Padgett, yes we'll be at Lake Kissimme State park on those dates. We have Site 5 and our friends have like 6, 7 and 9.

Jim, it's true that the sponge dock have changed a bit from the 60s. However, overall the city hasn't really changed that much. I've live here in Tarpon Springs for 30 years now and really enjoy the area. I love to fish and the boat ramp is just around the corner. You can say that I am a 'Happy Camper'.

We are in Fleming Island a bit south of Jacksonville. Fort Clinch, Little Talbots's and Anastasia Island are nice state parks worthy of a visit.

Hikerz, we'll put those on our list. We have friends in Middleburg.

The springs park offer great kayak trips. North beach is full hook up and situated between the Intraoastal and the beach.

Hikerz;
How do you get a reservation at Fort Clinch? Looks like it is always full - especially in April or May when i want to go. I live near Tallahassee

If it's like most FL state parks, reservations for campgrounds and cabins may be made up to 11 months in advance. So, when that days comes around to make your reservation, you have to be online and hit the 'Reserve' button at exactly 8 AM.
You have to look at available site way in advance and plan your strategy.
