Default Adco covers

Greetings,

I'm looking to purchase a cover for our 3023.
After doing a search on the forum and Google, I have a couple of questions I'd like your wisdom on.

1. Is adco the best covers for our rigs (if I don't have unlimited $$)
2. Is adco available in any color other than gray?
3. What is the difference between thebAdCO 12252 and the 22852?
I googled hear but couldn't come up with an answer.

We live in Southern California. So lots of sun, pine needles and not much rain.

Thank you

Z

The best cover is from:

http://www.calmarkcovers.com/

They custom build each one to your specs, have the longest warranty, and mine fits perfectly. Mine cost about $700.00 delivered for a 3124. If you are not far from them, then you can save the $100 I spent for shipping.

I have one of the Adco's, the one made of the "Sunbrella" fabric on our 3023. But I would have to check on which model it was. Pretty sure it was the more expensive of the two choices.

If I am not mistaken it is different materials between the two. Sunbrella is a trademark for a soft and lightweight but reasonably durable and very breathable outdoors fabric.

Edit: Sorry, I just looked at mine and I referred to it is as "Sunbrella" but actually I think it has some other name. But very similar. The top white section is a vinyl coated fabric with tiny holes for breathability and the gray sides are just the soft canvass like fabric. I think they call it Tyvek. In any case, pretty sure ours is the 22852.

I have large heavy duty tarps from HF with a camoflage tarp over the front ("must not be visible from street" - I live in a neighborhood with sidewalks and everything). Being stored in the grotto it does not get much sunlight & mainly to keep leaves/sap off) and a year later is fine. Under $100 including a gaggle of bungie cords.

Default Our is an ADCO cover

Have you decided yet? Ours is an ADCO cover we bought from another
member/owner here. I just checked the part number on our cover and then
checked the ADCO website. Evidently, they don't make/sell our part number
cover anymore(22845).
However, from the website a very similar cover is
Hi-Lo Dupont TyvekŪ RV
Part # Length Cover Dimensions (L x W x H)
22852 Up to 22' 6" (Up to 24' Model) 273" x 104" x 60"
http://www.adcoprod.com/Universal-RV...i-Lo-RV-Covers

For our 2720, the cover we have is not quite wide enough for the front shell.
The Tyvek roof doesn't completely cover the shell, edge to edge.
It just barely covers the rear shell, edge to edge. The Tyvek(white) is needed
to help the rain run off as well as protection from the sun.
But not being wide enough, now there's a seam where the Tyvek meets
the gray side fabric before the vertical drop.
This misfit is exaggerated by our attempt to help the rain run off by adding
a styrofoam shipping box(12x12x12 for mail delivery of insulin) under the
cover and with a 10 ft long piece of PVC pipe bridging from roof A/C to
the styrofoam box. This creates a ridge in the roof section so the cover sloaps
to the edges.
I wish the Tyvek section was wider. But if I were to find a cover with wider
Tyvek, then the side walls would likely be too tall and fall to the ground
creating another challenge of blousing the bottom of the walls. I can't
justify a custom fit cover at this time. We too don't have unlimited $$.
As far as length, it just barely covers the horizontal propane bottles.
We bought the cover cheap and it does suit its purpose for now.
Tell us what you decided to buy/make.

Thank you for the replies.
The camper is parked on our easement which is next to the street.
Tarp isn't an option. I'm trying to get it to be as easy on the eyes as possible. Not sure if keeping it here will fly. If we get complaints it a warning from the city, I will have to go back to plan A, which is storing it at my in-laws, 45 minutes away. Even in that location, I need a good looking cover that will keep it clean from pine needles and protect it from the sun.

Still looking...

Still looking...[/QUOTE]

Mainly, thinking about one for sun sheltering during summer when it is out of covered storage but is it the opinion of Adco and Calmark owners (or others) that they are heavy duty enough to protect from hail damage (say under 3/4" diameter) to a collapsed/parked TM?
(still toying with purchasing one but with a flap over the solar). thanks.

Relative thin, so I would say probably not much hail protection. Maybe if suspended a couple inches off of the roof using spacers of some sort? If the hail doesn't penetrate the cover in that case, I don't know.

What about using pool noodles to create the gap between the cover and the top of the TM? Cheap, long enough to push under, and you can use 6 or 8 (or more) to add more support across more of the roof.

You could also use a few sheets of foam insulation to protect against hail.
