Default Shell Seal torn

First Post... I just bought a used Trailmanor last week. The Canvas covered Seal on the top of the front shell is torn. How do you replace this seal?

Thanks!

Welcome! This is a great site with a wealth of information, and very nice people. We replaced all the bag seal on the front shell last year, see pics on my blog here:

Hope this helps - enjoy your new Trailmanor!

You didn't specify how big the tear is. If its relatively small you may be able to fix it with a canvas patch. You can get a small kit at most RV stores and some camping stores that includes glue that stays flexable after drying.

You could also call the factory, they are great about giving advice on something like this.

Enjoy your TM and see you down the road!

Default Tear-Aid

To Roger's point...

There is a product called Tear-Aid. There are two types, A and B. I thought I might have first heard about it here, but a search came up empty. I got some to have in my repair kit for my dry suit. I haven't used it yet, but remember reading that several folks, on some board, rave about it.

You can request samples here...
http://www.tear-aid.com/
and you can purchase it at Amazon and Cabelas.

Depending on where and how big the tear is, it might be worth a try.

Thanks to all who replied... I appreciate it! I bought a 2002 TM 3023 just a couple weeks back. So we're in the process of learning how everything works, cleaning, and planning our first camping trip this year! Now that I figured how to post a picture to thee forum, here's a picture of my torn seal. How difficult are these to change?

Thanks!

Has anyone found a suitable replacement for the bag seal material without ordering from the factory. I have a couple I want to replace.

It looks like "Hypalon" to me....(and if it isn't, it probably should be)... That's the stuff that they make good quality inflatable boats out of. Water tight, air tight, highly abrasive resistant........can't ask for more than that.....

@ $30 for 12" x 57" it may be a good deal. You will have to "Glue" 2 pieces together to get a full length for the roof but they have the special glue too. That's what the stuff is made for and the glued seem would be practically unnoticeable.

I may be all wrong about that but if I ever do mine, I'll let you know how it works.......

I talked to my local TM dealer last week about the torn seal... they told me that they make the seal as they install it... all one piece. I'm taking the TM in for a check-up this coming week... I'll let you know the cost for a new seal.
