Default Black tank

I've seen the "poor man's Sealnad alternative" but wondered if anyone has installed a black tank under the floor?

On most TM models, there is no space under the floor, at least back by the plumbing. Get down on your back and check it out.

Default Black Tank "Addition"

Saw a post from 2005 (Ripp1202) that talked about using PVC pipe under the frame to add volume for black water storage. I don't see the pictures of this, but would be very interested in them. This could be a solution for us, as well. We have a 2005 2720SD with a SeaLand installed (9.5 gal capacity). Would love to increase that. Bill had responded to that post - are pictures available?

I think the thread you are referring to discussed how to add storage for the sewer hose (the "slinky hose"), not how to increase the black tank capacity. If I have found the wrong thread, please post a link to the proper one.

In Ripp's discussion, the 4" PVC pipe hangs down below the frame, and below everything else as well. This means that it is below the TM's existing drain connection, and won't drain through it. However, it could be done if you add a new dump connector at the end.

I'll admit that the idea of "going below the TM" to increase tank capacity makes me nervous. With a pipe hanging 4 inches below the frame, and below the gray tank, for example, damage from road debris, or rocks or stumps in a campsite, is more likely. And if the pipe contains several gallons of sewage, even minor damage would have major consequences.
