Default New on demand hot water heater

Looks like there may now be one that minimizes hot water temp fluctuations in on demand systems:

http://www.truma.net/us/en/water-sys...er-systems.php

I found it in the latest version of RV-PRO magazine. Anyone want to look at the installation manual and opine on its suitability/fit for TMs?

I was able to talk to one of the first owners of this water heater. He says it does everything it says it will BUT, you must have at least 0.4 gallons per minute flow. I believe our water pump does that and I would expect most campgrounds can easily do that. He sent me some pics of it installed, one of which shows the unit. It looks quite different to me than others of its type. Thoughts anyone?

Ironically, this subject came up. Last night in my area Rolling On TV had a whole segment on this water heater. If you are interested in more details go here:

There should be no issue with the water pump. I think my water pump is rated at 2.8 GPM. I would expect it runs at 2.0 GPM.

But what will you do with the hole in the side of the camper?

We have been camping with camper since 1988. I can only say the first year hot water and showers was an issue. Once we got use to taking showers like we were in the navy, we really don't consider it and issue.

Also, we use the CG showers if they are nice. I like a larger shower then what any camper we have owned has had. Plus, so many places we camp don't have water hook up, so I would have to haul more water.

The new hot water heater goes right where the current one will be. It will just take less room under the sink I believe. As for CG showers, they are fine for me, but the DW says "yuck."

Default On demand water heater

Watched the whole show and the WH is very interesting, as well the the WDH that was demonstrated. I wonder if TM will install an "ON DEMAND WH IF ASKED".
There going to have to adjust the water lines since I'm going for the Cassette type toilet, because we do not plan on doing any boondocking.

I have already talked with Todd (Sales Manager) on this perhaps being an option for TMs in the future. He was actually quite receptive to it. Big issue will be the price as I believe at retail, they will be $1199.00 But if they work and get good buzz, that might not be an issue for some purchasers. I also have the cassette so will let you know if that is an issue when I get it.

Default On demand water heater

Funpilot or any one else,
If you want go to www.truma.net. The WH is under the name of Truma AquaGo and you can read the specs. No price is posted, but if I come across one I'll post it.

I did 4/5 months of field testing on this unit. I will take it with me if I ever trade trailers. Love it.
