A dedicated tent camper once told me since I have a TM with all the amenities I am no longer "camping" at a site, I am "visiting". They would not allow canvas popups at Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone, but they did allow my TM. They were well aware of the hard sided TM.

There is some truth in this. But of course the person who bivouacs without tent or cover would have the same thing to say to the tent camper.

My kids tell me I don't camp. I don't argue, as it is really "glamping". I have no problem calling it that, as I have worked a long time to get to our TM. But, I sure do enjoy my boondocking (in the true meaning of the term) glamping! So does my wife.
No more sleeping on the ground, or hating to hear the rain start, wondering how long it will be until we get wet. I enjoyed tent camping, and canvas-popup camping while I was doing it, but I have no regrets for upgrading to a TM.

Yes, everyone comments on how nice it is to sleep in the trailer, and I can think of a few trips that would have been a lot nicer that way.

Memories of holding an umbrella at 2 in the morning while trenching......walking by flashlight to the bathroom at 4 am......we've done our time, and we all deserve to 'glamp'!! As I mentioned, one son has a 40 ft rig, and a daughter has a 32 ft Class C.......in our family, Mom and Dad are roughing it!! and we like it that way! I really don't want a condo on wheels.......TM's are just comfy enough......

Although I'm new to the TM experience (owned for 2 yrs; used 9 times so far), I have never been turned away from an RV site nor has anyone ever said anything.
I guess if anyone would ever approach in an attempt to dissuade me from using their campground on the basis of my TM being a "pop up" I would simply request a "rationale/reason."
My tendency to recommend their park to other campers would rely heavily on their basis for refusing my TM.

Yes many years ago for having dogs. That's what they said. But I think it was 4 very wound up kids from traveling and the dogs was an excuse.

We were "camping" at Seacliff State Beach CA last week and didn't have the sewer hose hooked up yet. The campground host walked by and was skeptical about our TM being self contained but we assured him that we'd stayed there many times before and that it was indeed self contained. They only allow self contained units there for some reason.
Got a lot of interest in the TrailManor this trip. One lady asked me if we were towing it with the Prius (we took the truck home and brought the Prius back so that we could buzz around in it). I told her no, but that there was someone on our TrailManor owner's board who is towing with their Tesla.

I know that this is an old post on the forum, but I am glad that you posted this. I was wondering what that campground would say about a Trailmanor. Thanks for the post.

Only thing I've heard about not allowing pop ups is in bear country....
Soft sides a bear will go right through.
But we are hard sided. So same as any regular camper.
