I did some research on this very subject. It appears CA tax law dictates if you take possession in CA then you must pay CA sales tax. The work around is have the dealer bring it over the state line and you will the avoid CA sales tax but the dealer will probably charge a delivery fee. In my case the state I'm purchasing has no sales tax but when I get it home I have to pay my local 9.9% sales tax plus licensing fees.

When we bought ours in TX there was a document that we signed stating the TM would be registered and tagged in Fl so we didn't have to pay TX sales tax.

I don't know if this is still true but the Fl tag office would look at what you paid in out of state sales tax and you paid the difference if Fl's was higher; of coarse they didn't give a refund if the out of state tax was higher.

Don't worry the tax collector will get your money some how.

Tis true.
When we lived in OR, we accepted ownership of our new '03 sportsmobile in Medford, OR.
The factory in Fresno arranged for a factory representative driver to transport the vehicle to Medford.
We paid a set fee for the service (that included a set daily fee that was inclusive of meals, diesel, motel, one way rental car) and signed the papers/ownership in our home state.

Florida and many states have a process to provide temporary tags for an out of state buyer to be able to remove a car otherwise Florida has an "new registartion" fee of about $250.

Tags here remain wth the owners so many natives have tags that are currently not on a car or transfer existing tags when a car is replaced. Having a few on the shelf means avoiding that fee so the first thng a dealer will ask is "Do you have a tag ?".

Sales tax here is 6.5% most places.

Ohio you pay the taxes when you register the title. You can get temp plates without paying taxes.

Default Check with the AZ DOL

I'd certainly call the AZ Dept of Licensing before purchasing to be sure.
