Default New Airstream Lite trailer

Airstream bought a company the builds 16 foot fiberglass trailers and they will be marketing them for their ability to be pulled by an SUV . It's called The Nest They hope to be in production this year, according to a FB post I saw today. The few pictures I saw looked like a nice layout ,queen bed kitchen counter and a closet ,which I assumed was a bathroom. No picture of the bathroom.

Thumbs down Too Much

$35,000!!! for a cramper? For that kind of dough you can get a really nice new TM that has 4X's the room and amenities...the only problem is you won't look as yuppie or stylish going down the road....is image REALLY everything? If it is the you need to reexamine your life! Didn't those chairs look comfy? Air conditioning an option? That wouldn't cut it in Texas!

Well just the name "Airstream" adds $10k. Have always been deluxe just heavy.

One of the issues with the TM is that when open it adds a lot of space but is not very stylish. More Form Follows Function. Not a detriment for me but the bright shiny crowd may not like the Mad Max leg look..

Value is a tricky proposition ... I'm pretty sure back when the original TM's were rolling off the assembly line many people saw a glorified pop-up camper that was "overpriced".

Airstream is a high end manufacture and creates an extremely well made product for a premium price. That they are placing a bet on something like this design is significant, though I agree with you that I don't see a real value proposition to the product right now. We shall see ...

I can see the young Urban professionals who have never roughed it in the woods with just a backpack or tent would be all over this thing, I mean COLOR MATCH to their Crossover even!!!. I think it would work if you are a little fellow and single but 2 or more would be a crowd. lol
