Default Camping World retail store -YIKES

A mistake I won't make again. I decided I wanted to get the bad hot water element replaced Saturday and there happens to be one of the stores within 20 miles so I head over there. They go fetch an element and the anode rod and I look a round the store for a while (lots of good toys in there) then come back to the register to check out the two items.

She says "$65 something please" and I am like what??? I was pretty sure I had seen them on line for $12 or so. But I wasn't 100% sure the online ones were OEM brand plus I had already made the trip and wanted to finish that day. The element was over $35 and anode $25 something. The told me I could save $6 after paying a fee for the Good Sam club

Just verified the ones on Amazon were the exact same brand and part number for 11.75 shipped.

Unless it's on sale, I have found CW always seems to be high. But they are very convenient and they have very good access to OEM parts.

Nice place to visit when I make my "Northern sweep" for errands, about 7 miles from my house (Orlando has everything). Got a few things from the clearance table a switch and some welting.

One of the perks I did not expect when I bought the TM up in Ocala was three years of Good Sam Elite. Handy. Agree that if Amazon has the same thing, it is usually less.

I expected a little higher but not triple everyone else. Makes me wonder if she might have rung up the "installed" prices or something.

or tourist price.

Yeas ago I visited J. C. Whitney (Washawski if you were west of the Miss.) on Archer in Chicago and asked about a part, when they looked it up, it was significantly higher than my catalog.

When I protested they pulled out a different catalog from under the counter with the "other" price.

Look up that same part number on campingworld.com. Maybe they scanned the wrong thing or the wrong price was associated with that product in the store's computer system. 3x the price seems a bit out of hand.

Part number does not show up searching the CW internet site that I can tell.

Even more evidence of my stupidity, one of the largest, if not the largest RV sales and service centers is located half mile up the road from CW. They are locally/family owned with an excellent reputation. I didn't even think to go check what they had before paying at CW.

Got mine @ Lowes for $10.95 last month! CW you always need to watch prices closely. The instore. the flyer and online prices can all be different at same time. My CW will accept online price in store.

Got mine on Amazon: $11.84 (1440 watt element) + $13.93 Anode = $25.77 delivered 2nd day express. Good place to shop . . .
