Trailmanors and pets
A German Shorthaired Pointer joined our family this year. We have some questions about camping with pets. What do y'all do with your pet if you go to the pool , beach or to a restaurant. I read some restaurants have pet friendly decks. Do you lock your pet up in the camper or in a kennel in the camper. Most of the time our dog with be with us. There are times that we would like to hang out at the pool or beach where pets are not allowed. We are long time campers , just not with a dog.

We leave ours in a WELL VENTED tow vehicle. Be aware that different places have different rules. Lots of state parks object to unattended pets.

I travel with two dogs and there are times, like when we were at Davis Mountains, my friends and I wanted to go to the Observatory and needed to leave the dogs. I left the dogs in the TM with the air cond on as it was really hot outside. I don't have to kennel my dogs. They each have a dog bed in the trailer and are really cool about just hanging out if I need to go somewhere without them.

Definitely depends on the dog. My old dog could just hang out in the AC, no trouble...until he got too old. Then he started to bark, so we crated him at that time (time in crate = no barking). My new pups...well, we're going on our first trip with them this weekend, one night, close by, so if it's a disaster we can return home. I am quite certain these guys will not do well being left in the camper, at least not now. Hopefully in the future...

We have 2 small chugs they go in a crate inside the TM AC on and no problems.
They feel safer in a crate and they dont jump all over the furniture like kids do when left alone LOL

We have a mid size 65 lb pound princes and just got a lab puppy. We leave the dogs in the camper with the ac/furnace or just the fan on when we go places that are no dogs allowed. The puppy stays in a crate. Never hear a complaint.

Thanks for starting this thread. We will be camping with our 25lb eski-jack russell mix. We have a 2720, and I've been thinking about where she will sleep. I'm guessing we'll try a small dog bed under the table. There's no room anywhere else. I had planned on leaving her in the camper with AC on when it's hot, but I do have worries about what would happen if the power went off for some reason. Although it seems to me that my TM even when in the sun, doesn't get nearly as hot as a car does. It's pretty well insulated and with curtains closed not much sun can get in.
