Default Trailmanor for Honda Ridgeline 2017

Just bought a new Honda Ridgeline 2017 and looking to buy a Trailmanor for it. We used to own a 2720 and were quite happy towing it around the country with our old Tundra. Would a smaller 2619 be a better choice since the Ridgeline does not have as good towing spec as the Tundra?

First of all, congrats on the new Ridgeline! Honda did a complete redesign for 2017 and it appears they nailed it!

As for your TM size question, there will be much debate on this subject but I think a few questions to clarify may assist:
1. How many trips per year will you be towing?
2. How much gear do you plan on bringing?
3. What type of distances will you be traveling?
4. How many mountains/steep inclines will you be encountering?

If we were talking about a 3023 like mine this would be a different conversation, but IMHO unless you are constantly traveling through mountains on long trips completely weighted down with a ton of gear, your 2017 Ridgeline should be able to handle a 2720 with no issues.

Also, I found a review of your new Ridgeline which covers specifically it's towing capacity and it's abilities right at the 5,000 lbs towing limit:

One other note: If you do decide a 2720 is OK to tow, that will open up your search with a lot more TM's to consider; I have only seen a few 2619's on the market.

Congrats on the new truck and good luck in your TM search!

A 2720 will be fine, I've towed one for a few years with a G1 Ridgeland. Last year we got a 3023 and it sags a little but still tows ok. Your G2 should be better with the 6 speed tranny and changed shift points. Just remember it's a 6 cylinder so it's going to shift more than a v-8. Also run premium gas 91 or higher it will make a noticeable difference in mpg and power.

What model Ridgeline did you get?
