In a word......COLORADO

We've tried a LOT of locations thruout the southeast in the summer and unless you're under water, the weather/bugs/humidity can be oppressive........

Default Update

We have decided to brave the summer heat and camp in the "mountains" of NE Alabama. We will arrive tomorrow afternoon. Very nice state park a couple hours away. I appreciate all the suggestions. We aren't brave enough just yet to take the camper far away. I have purchased a "Thermocell" mosquito repellant. And also an oscillating fan--which has been proven to deter mosquitoes. Also taking an old screen house to cover the picnic table if necessary. Hoping our AC holds up during the trip! I'm so, so glad to be camping again. The weather is predicted to be just a tad bit cooler in the days to come, so I'm hopeful we won't melt. I'll update y'all on how we fare.
