Default easiest way to reduce height

I just got a 2012 2720sl. It is about about 2 inches higher than my garage door opening. Just wondering if I could easily remove the AC cowl to get it in the garage - or could I take enough air out of tires to bring it down 2 inches without damaging the tires?

I don't know how much clearance you'll get with removing the A/C cowling, but I don't think it would be a good idea at all to deflate you tires to get clearance. If you deflate them to the point where your on the rim, that will cause premature tire damage or you don't realize you've damaged the tire side wall and it failes while you're driving down the road at the worst time.

I don't think there is any harm in deflating the tires down to say 20 psi, but I doubt that will give you 2 inches. Maybe 1", but I'm just guessing. Perhaps in combination with removing the cowling might give you the clearance you need, but doing both of those things every time you have to pull it in AND out sounds like a major pain. But, it might be your only solution to get it in there, aside from altering that opening somehow -- have you checked to make sure you're not just hitting some trim that could be easily removed?

Just to be clear, you are talking about the garage door opening, right? Not the garage door itself. If the door is the limiting factor, it can be raised several inches with the simple turn of a screw. There is a post somewhere, with pictures - try post #17 here

Do you have a one piece door? We had a problem with getting our previous trailer into the garage, and we decided the easiest way to fix it was to install a roll up sectional door. Now we have the full 7' clearance.

I wouldn't be scared to deflate the tires to just move it a few feet.. but man would that be a pain in the rear to deflate/inflate every time you want to camp.

There was someone a while back who actually cut tracks in his garage floor concrete. Pretty unique idea. There is a fine line between a unique idea and something pretty wacky! But it apparently worked...

another thought - the previous owner might have had it raised a bit. You could have the spacers removed.

We opted to have ours raised, so we could get it up our steep driveway.
