Default National Forest Service Campgrounds

This website was in an article in the latest Highways magazine on National Forest Service camping: http://www.forestcamping.com/

Looks like a great resource for those that want to get away from the typical commercial campgrounds.

I have several of their books - they have most of the same info as on the website, but are nice to have if you need access to their info while on the road without internet.

Thanks! I will have to check this out. It always seems strangely difficult to find out good info on these campgrounds in advance. But, when you go to the local ranger station, they have great info.

I love the link and saved it. I checked the General info on the Camp at Juniper Springs and found it to be accurate. Especially this line:

Although all National Forests require dogs be kept on a leash,
this rule is especially important in the Ocala where alligators
are particularly fond of dog for supper.

We camp a couple of times each year at the W.M.A. in the Ocala National Forest. We will try to check out some of the camp grounds in the Salt Springs and Juniper Springs area the 2nd weekend in March.

Default Good stuff . . .

I have been using their Rocky Mountain Region 3rd edition for the past two years to help plan vacation stops. Good book.
