Default Sport Model dimensions

Since the beginning of time, the Forum has seen lots of queries about the height of a TM, and the ability to fit one through a standard garage door. "Standard" usually means about 84" door height.

When I was at the factory last October, they had a number of 2720 Sport models on the factory floor. To my untrained eye, they all looked substantially taller than the new 2720's parked beside them. In addition to the kayak racks on the roof, the body looked to be higher off the ground, and the air conditioner didn't look like the low-profile model that we have gotten used to. I asked Jacob about it, and all I got was a grunt in reply. I didn't have a chance to ask Paul.

Does anyone have any info, even preliminary? If none is available yet, I would like to see it posted here quickly when it does show up.

Bill

Ok so by looking at the shadows in pictures of the standard TM vs Sport and applying some trigonometry and applying the Pythagorean theorem and Ohm’s law plus focusing on my breathing while doing wax on wax off I came up with an overall height of 6ft 10.5in (82.5”) when closed, 9ft 10in (118”) when open.

EDIT: Sorry, the sarcasm was a little thick here. They are 82.5" tall when closed and 118" tall when open.
