Correct and a Honda 2000i will start and run easily. I use a larger one to have a bit more reserve.

Thanks Padgett, I thought that is what you installed. I am looking at one now. but 299.00 seems a bit pricey to me.

If you read my original shootout, there was more than one soft start supplier listed at the bottom of the page.

Price is now $7900.

Craig, I also installed a Micro Air Easy Start. They have a good YouTube video on installation. And, I read the instructions about 5 times before I snipped any wires.

Thanks, I did not pull the trigger yet as thinking like Padgett I was wondering if the Honda 2000 watt Honda would not be enough to use anything else along with the AC. Are you using a 2000 watt Honda?

Padgett, did you also install a blower/fan delay circuit? So the blower/fan stops and delays starting for a few seconds when there is a demand for the compressor and it's surge of amps at startup?

Craig,
I, too, am thinking of getting a generator, perhaps next year. I was wondering what else you would want thetor for besides the AC? The main reason we would get it is for the AC and charging the TM battery. We do coffee on a stove top percolator, so the only thing that might need AC electricity is the TV.

We only use our generator for charging the battery when we know there will be no sun sunny days for a while and we will be running the furnace. This ends up being every few years

If its summer we just get a site with electricity, can not run the generator at night and don't want to hear and smell it all day.

If its a short trip we just relay on the batteries, If it a longer trip with schedule forecast sunny day at least every 3 days we bring the portable solar panels.
